Waconia Lake

The first pictures here are just random ones we thought were funny. The first one we were trying on her hat someone had crocheted her to make sure it fit in case it got cold when her grandparents took her to Buffalo Days. It was a little too small as you can see :) Also note she it standing up ... she wants to do this ALL the time. We asked the pediatrician if that was okay and she said just to keep letting her do it.

Note what the bib says "Attitude is everything" This was right before we were feeding her

And this is after .... all smiles

For Father's Day we went out on a pantoon boat around the lake. Halleigh loved being on the boat!

And here she is driving the boat with Uncle Nick. We were actually stopped so she was in no danger at all :)

All smiles :)

Halleigh turned 7 weeks old yesterday! She has been growing up soooo fast! She has started to smile everytime someone smiles at her ... when you are about 12 inches from her face. She can recognize that you are smiling and copy what you are doing. She has also been "talking" a lot making lots of sounds. Dustin and I "chat" with her for hours about anything and everything. Lately she has been wanted to stand instead of sit or lay in someones arms so we hold her arms and let her stand. She kicks her feet like she wants to walk but we think it is a little too early for this :) We also have been noticing that she likes to sit up now too. She sits up in her boppy and in the bumbo seat .. only for a few minutes though. It has been so fun watching her grow up and learn new things.

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend this year we went down to Braddyville to surprise Dustin's family with a visit. It was Dustin's grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary so we decided to make the trip down to surprise them. We first surprised Dustin's mom at her school Thursday and she showed Halleigh off to all of her coworkers. After that we surprised Dustin's grandparents.
Friday morning we went to Dustin's dad's house and surprised that part of the family. Most of the kids had not met Halleigh yet so it was fun for them. That afternoon we waited to surprise Dustin's sister Kylie at their grandparent's house. She was also surprised but said she was suspicious of all the phone calls Dustin and Phyllis had made to her that day.

The whole weekend was spent getting stuff ready for the party on Sunday. There was tons of great food! We left Monday morning and stopped at our good friends the Johnson's house in Lehigh, Iowa on our way home. Lucy was born a day after Halleigh so it was neat to compare the two girls. After eating lunch we made our way home and had dinner at Cortney's parent's house. The weekend was a blast but now it is back to work. Cortney started her new job at Target in the pharmacy on Tuesday and we are crossing our fingers that Dustin will start his new job next week :)

Video Games and Boogers

This past week has been a busy one for Halleigh. On Mother's Day we went to Kris', Cortney's mom's cousin, for a BBQ after the Race for the Cure. Halleigh got to me Aunt Fay who has been dying to meet her ever since she was born. She also got to meet Great Great Aunt Francis, Great Great Uncle Bill and lots of cousins (twice and third times removed?).

During the week we just hung out like usual. We made some trips over to see Grandma Kim and Grandpa Jim. Uncle Nick even showed up a few times too! Uncle Nick thought Halleigh liked the word booger so he kept saying it over and over to her. One time after he said it she made a sound that everyone thought sounded like booger. Of course it was just a coo but it was perfect timing so now Uncle Nick thinks Halleigh's first word is booger.

Halleigh is doing awesome; we could not have asked for a better child! She is an awesome eater and sleeper. We usually get a 5-7 hour uninterrupted sleep at night :) She likes to listen to people talk; we usually read her a book before we go to bed and Grandma Kim has long "talks" with Halleigh when she sees her.

Lastly, we thought we'd show you a picture of how Halleigh "helps" her dad play his video games:

She's here!

Halleigh Ann Henry was born on Tuesday, April 21st at 9:04am. She weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. She is a very healthy girl and we are totally loving spending time with her. We have tons of pictures but we picked our favorites.

The House is Done ... and so is the Nursery :)

We finally got around to taking pictures of the house after all of the remodels were done. We also thought we would share pictures of the nursery for family members and friends who won't get to see it in person for awhile. As you can tell the theme of her room is lady bugs. It has been so much fun decorating this room! Now all we have to do is wait for her to get here :)

Pictures of the House Remodel - During

And here are the remodeling pictures!!!

We painted all the trim white to brighten up the house since the previous owners have dark brown trim. We also took off all the doors and painted them white too. This is Dustin hard at work putting the door back on. He also put in the hardwood floors with the help of my brother. It turned out fantastic!

This is the bathroom after the painting. It really brightened up the room!

We added an all white vanity and mirror.

And here is the baby's room :) This was the best room to remodel. The hardwood floors are all throughout the house so we put it in her room as well. We also put a chair rail in the room to seperate the two shades of pink. We added a fan with lights and new blinds to brighten up the room. Her uncle is going to be painting on the lady bugs and flowers in a few days!

This is the master bedroom. We painted the walls a light green and added hardwood floors. We also put up new blinds.

The TINY closet in our room. We are currently in the process of planning how to get more closet space!

Here is a picture of the kitchen after it had been painted. Note my mom is cleaning while Dustin picks at his blister!

This is the living room facing towards the front door. This is the only door that isn't white because we are planning on getting a new one.

Here is my brother and dad hard at work working on the base boards. You can see the light blue/gray color we picked out for the walls and the hardwood floors that really brighten up this room.

So after a month of work this is what the house currently looks like. We are hoping to move in later this month and we will post more pictures as the house comes along!
